System is the way to achieve the goal. Therefore you need to change a system first, than a habit.
At the same time, you need to create proper goals: the goal is to become a great musician, not to play an instrument.
Successful and not successful people share the same goal
4 laws to make a habit:
- make it obvious (where and when you do it);
- attractive (clearly understand why you need it);
- easy (put a book on the night table);
- satisfying (reward yourself for practicing a new habit);
Pair 4 laws with a habit stacking - pair old habit with a new one - after X I’ll do Y .
Lastly, change the environment instead of relying on your self-control or power of will. If you don’t want to drink alcohol, don’t buy it or store it at home.
