4 laws to make a habit:

  • make it obvious (where and when you do it);
  • attractive (clearly understand why you need it);
  • easy (put a book on the night table);
  • satisfying (reward yourself for practicing a new habit);

Pair 4 laws with a habit stacking - pair old habit with a new one - after X I’ll do Y .

Lastly, change the environment instead of relying on your self-control or power of will. If you don’t want to drink alcohol, don’t buy it or store it at home.
